Are you interested in ways to help students engage more closely with course content and each other? Social annotation tools like Perusall allow students and instructors to add comments that are directly anchored to course readings, making learning more active, visible, and collaborative. In this interactive workshop, we will examine the benefits and limitations of social annotation and explore strategies for incorporating it meaningfully into asynchronous, synchronous, and on-campus courses. You will leave with practical skills for integrating Perusall into Blackboard and designing engaging social annotation assignments.
Workshop objectives:
After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:
- Describe the benefits and challenges of using social annotation tools.
- Create social annotation assignments in Perusall for online and in-person courses.
- Develop grading strategies for social annotation assignments.
EVENT FORMAT: This workshop will be online on Zoom.
