Overview

As a teaching assistant, balancing multiple responsibilities can quickly become overwhelming, so finding ways to streamline your workload is crucial. In this session, we will explore strategies for managing your time effectively, prioritizing tasks, and increasing efficiency in your day-to-day duties. We’ll focus on practical grading techniques, how to provide meaningful feedback, and methods for supporting student success through clear communication and effective assessment practices. By the end of the session, you’ll have actionable tools to reduce your workload, improve productivity, and enhance the quality of your work as a TA.

After participating in this event, graduate students will have:

  • Developed strategies for managing time and prioritizing tasks.
  • Discussed efficient grading techniques and practiced crafting meaningful, constructive feedback
  • Explored methods for fostering student success through clear communication, empathy, and equitable assessment practices.
