Grading and Proctoring
Assessing student learning can be done directly on Blackboard or using tools such as Gradescope, a rubric-based grading tool. Also, online proctoring offers students and test-takers the option to take a proctored exam from any location. The process ensures the identity of the test taker and the integrity of the test environment.
Additionally, plagiarism prevention software assists faculty by detecting unoriginal content in student papers and providing a report for review. There are two tools available: SafeAssign can be used by any UIC faculty member via a Blackboard Learn course site, while iThenticate is not integrated with Blackboard and can only be used by faculty and graduate-level students.
