Call to Action: UIC Instructors’ Teaching Needs

INSTRUCTIONAL INNOVATION

What additional resources, programming, and topic areas would be most helpful to YOU in your teaching in the upcoming year?

Instructors identify the programs and assets that will allow them to better help students succeed.

The CATE team endeavors to use a data-driven approach to inform the work that we do as a teaching and learning center by engaging in a cycle of continuous improvement based on data and feedback from our stakeholders. We created and administered a needs assessment questionnaire in 2022 to assess UIC instructors’ most pressing needs and challenges, and the types of resources services, and professional development opportunities they’d like to see.

Check out our one-page infographic report documenting some of the results from this needs assessment, and the resources and programming that CATE has designed and implemented in the past year to meet those needs.

We want to hear from you! In preparation for the upcoming academic year, CATE is asking for feedback from you! Take a brief, 2-minute survey to give us feedback on how we are doing to support your teaching needs, and importantly, what additional resources, programming, and topic areas would be most helpful to you in your teaching in the upcoming year. This survey will be open until the end of this month.

If you have any questions about our needs assessment report, this survey, or what CATE offers to instructors at UIC, feel free to reach out to us at teaching@uic.edu.
