Here we showcase UIC instructors who have distinguished themselves as exemplars in teaching excellence and curricular innovation. We recognize many pathways by which instructors reach such achievements. These include engagement in professional development opportunities to become more inclusive and equity-minded instructors, design and implementation of new courses and programs supporting student success, acquisition of competitive awards that provide funding to pilot and evaluate creative models for training future faculty, transforming instructional and mentoring paradigms, and facilitating changes to the curricular landscape from the undergraduate to graduate and professional student and postdoc levels.
