The Ultra Course View in Blackboard Learn personifies the type of modern, research-informed, educational technology available at UIC that has the greatest potential to enable the right environment and conditions to make teaching excellence possible.

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE) in partnership with Technology Solutions is committed to improving UIC’s learning technology infrastructure and the applications that support teaching and learning through the strategic priorities in the Inspire Learning Initiative.
Those priorities include the modernization and sustainability of the UIC learning management system. To that end, we want instructors to know about the innovative enhancements that have taken place with Blackboard Learn and the Ultra Course View.
The Ultra Course View has a modern design and an easy-to-use interface with some new tools that are not available in the Original Course View, like Progress Tracking and Discussion Analytics. Many early adopters have been attracted to these new features in Ultra Course View.
And now, following the merger with Anthology Inc, Blackboard has tripled Learn Ultra development resources and increased opportunities for instructor feedback in the development process. This strategy continues to drive the deployment of new features, and enabled the largest Learn Ultra release to-date delivered this July. We think the time is right to embrace the new research-informed capabilities of Anthology’s Blackboard Learn Ultra.

- Try a 30 day preview from Anthology.
- View the introductory video to Ultra courses.
- Explore the complementary Ultra View course that each instructor with a previous course site received in uic.blackboard.com (Look for a course titled “My Ultra Course to Explore).
- Make an appointment with a Instructional Designer to discuss Ultra View and evaluate if it’s right for your teaching.
