As the chill of winter fades, spring brings opportunities for rejuvenating and revitalizing teaching and learning experiences. CATE is here to support you in this work and we’d like to take a moment to remind you of the many ways in which you can connect with the CATE team and with your colleagues across campus.
CATE serves as a teaching hub for UIC by providing professional development programming and resources for instructors, including current and future faculty and graduate student teaching assistants across undergraduate, graduate, and professional school courses.
Whether you are preparing to teach, designing a course, looking to create a more inclusive learning environment, have questions about assessment and grading practices, or have questions about specific course modalities, we are here to help you!

Opportunities for Engagement:
- Make use of our on-demand Teaching Guides – these evidence-based resources provide guidance and strategies that you can put into practice in your own teaching.
- Request a one-on-one teaching consultation with a CATE team member
- Attend a Teaching Tidbits Workshop. These 60-120 minute online and in-person interactive workshops are led by CATE facilitators and allow you to connect with other UIC instructors.
- Participate in a semester or year-long professional development program, like our Inclusive Education Scholars Certificate Program or the Action Research Scholars Program, or graduate student and postdoc-specific program and certification opportunities available through CIRTL at UIC.
We would also like to direct you to our Campus Partners,
Learning Technology Solutions (LTS) and the Instructional Design & Media Production Studio (IDMPS) who offer additional support to UIC instructors.
