About
April Andry Rah’man is the Assistant Director for Education Research. She supports instructors and campus partners with using assessment data to conduct scholarly research and reflect on their teaching. She also supports CATE with self-assessment and research on the center’s educational development practice. She is an experienced research mentor, instructor, educational developer, and program evaluator who is committed to building academic homeplaces where both students and instructors experience belonging and have meaningful learning experiences.
Prior to her current role, April worked as a graduate research assistant at CATE, most visibly in her work with the Action Research Scholars. She also taught undergraduate students in the Nontraditional Degree Programs at Chicago State University. She completed a M.Ed. in Measurement, Statistics, Evaluation, and Assessment at UIC and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Policy Studies.
Outside of UIC, April enjoys taking long walks, reading (sometimes both at the same time), and spending time with family.
