Overview
Collaborative learning is a powerful approach for fostering student engagement and deepening learning across all instructional modalities. With the rapid emergence of generative AI, instructors are working to balance the challenges and ethical considerations these tools pose with the opportunities they offer to enhance teaching and learning in higher education. This interactive workshop will explore ways to augment collaborative learning activities that build on the affordances of generative AI tools while maintaining the strengths you and your students bring to the learning environment. Participants will spend time engaging with the free generative AI platforms introduced during this workshop.
After participating in this workshop, you will be able to:
- Recognize the value of collaborative learning in multiple learning modalities.
- Discuss the implications of integrating generative AI tools into collaborative learning.
- Identify ways to augment collaborative learning activities by meaningfully integrating generative AI tools.
