Overview

Are you a new UIC graduate teaching assistant (TA)? This Zoom workshop is designed to familiarize you with the UIC and help prepare you for your TA role. Topics to be covered will include expectations for first-time teaching assistants, best practices for the first day of class, and a quick tour of useful resources and offices.

By the end of this workshop graduate student TAs will be able to:

  • Describe common TA roles and responsibilities
  • Identify UIC resources to support them in their role
  • Craft a “to-do’ list to ensure a strong start to their TAship
