The CIRTL Network is offering free online programs and events this spring to help UIC graduate students and postdoctoral scholars develop their teaching knowledge and skills and prepare for the job market.

UIC’s Graduate College and the Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE) have partnered to establish UIC as a member of the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (CIRTL) network, a national organization that provides professional development opportunities for graduate students and postdocs interested in academic careers.
The CIRTL Network is offering free online programs and events this spring to help UIC graduate students and postdoctoral scholars develop their teaching knowledge and skills and prepare for the job market including:
- Courses on Laying the Foundations for a Successful Teaching Career and Research Mentor Training
- Workshops on Preparing Your Teaching Demo for a Job Interview, Decode a Troublesome Concept or Skill for Your Learners, Communicating to Learn: Incorporating Scientific Communication into STEM Courses
- An event series on Being Your Own Driver: Imagining Post-PhD Career Versatility
