Overall the technology was very functional and well received by the students.  The students were highly engaged and requested more exercises and HOMEWORK!

Dr. Margaret Byun and I are writing to briefly share what we learned from our experience with remote teaching this Fall semester in Module 1 of Pharmacoeconomics and Payment (PHAR 565). Module 1 is a 110-minute course with one 10-minute break. First, we benefited greatly from training provided to us by Mary Kopale in the College of Pharmacy and from technical support from our IT staff. We found Blackboard Collaborate to be a very useful platform. Primarily, we uploaded PowerPoint slides (at least 2 days prior to class time) and spoke while advancing the slides. Importantly, we made a point of taking short breaks, which students really appreciated. We also encouraged the chat feature and took advantage of the polling question options in Blackboard Collaborate to facilitate student interaction as well as to provide some opportunity for extra credit in our course. Overall, the technology was very functional and well received by the students. The students were highly engaged and requested more exercises and HOMEWORK!
