Associate Director for Instructional Innovation

The Center for the Advancement of Teaching Excellence (CATE) at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) invites applicants for a position of Associate Director for Instructional Innovation, who will advance the CATE mission to support the UIC community of educators in their efforts to improve instruction, innovate in the classroom, and transform the teaching culture.
The Associate Director will design, deliver, and assess professional learning opportunities for UIC instructors that couple evidence-based practices with the enabling of digital tools in support of innovative and effective pedagogy. The Associate Director will be responsible for advancing professional learning opportunities for UIC instructors by developing resources and implementing programs to support adoption of innovative and effective teaching practices that engage diverse learners in a variety of disciplines and in courses delivered via multiple modalities of instruction (e.g., online, on campus, hybrid). In addition, the Associate Director will consult with faculty on evidence-based teaching practices and organize and facilitate professional development programs such as on-campus workshops and online webinars.
